Every year, our team competes in the worldwide First Robotics Competition (FRC) with over 3500 competing teams. Through First values, our team works to build students skills in STEAM, business, and leadership through hands-on experiences. We strive to give our community those same opportunities! Last year, our team was district event champions with our alliance at Glacier Peak. Additionally, we won the Imagery Award for our team’s integration of visual aesthetic into our robot design and team’s appearance. Our community outreach consists of Family Fun-day during the Sequim Irrigation Festival, the Irrigation Festival parade, and the kids' zone at the Clallam County Fair. At Sequim Irrigation Festival Parade and Family Fun Day, our robot Juggle Jaws tosses balls to catch and score back into Juggle Jaw’s hoop. During the four days at the Clallam County Fair, we have two smaller sized robots in addition to Juggle Jaws that play a miniature game. The two robots' names are Slugger and Turtle. At this event, we have our team members teach the kids how to drive the robots to score balls into a milk crate. Since most of the kids that visit our booths are still in elementary school, we talk to parents and community members about what our club does, to inspire the younger generation.
